WHY I'M RUNNING
District E is home to incredible people, vibrant neighborhoods, and untapped potential. But too often, our community has been left behind - without the resources, infrastructure, and investment we deserve.
I’m running for City Council because I believe New Orleans East and the Lower Ninth Ward can and must be a driving force in our city’s future. I will fight every day to:
Invest in infrastructure
from fixing streets to strengthening flood protection.
Improve public safety
working with NOPD, community leaders, and youth programs to prevent crime and keep our neighborhoods safe.
Create economic opportunity
attracting businesses, supporting small business owners, and building pathways to good-paying jobs.
MEET JASON HUGHES
Jason Hughes has spent his life fighting for New Orleans East and the Lower Ninth Ward - delivering results, building coalitions, and standing up for the people he serves. From the State Capitol to our neighborhoods, Jason has championed better schools, safer streets, stronger small businesses, and opportunities for every family. Now, he’s ready to bring his proven leadership home to City Hall.
